Listed Service Organizations are organizations committed to extending the ministry and mission of the church, but are separately incorporated and not part of the synod's constitutional structure. They are independent in the establishment and evaluation of their own objectives, activities, and programs, in organization and administration, and in financial matters.
Listed Service Organizations are recognized by Lutheran Church–Canada as operating regionally in scope. Consequently, they are required to seek permission of the District in which they operate before soliciting funds. They are not authorized to solicit funds on a national scale unless given express permission by LCC's Board of Directors.
All Listed Service Organizations must be classified by Canada Customs and Revenue Agency as a charitable organization.
For more information on the status of Listed Service Organizations, please see 13.03 in Lutheran Church–Canada's Handbook.
